Women in Film Event
As Vice President of the College of Communication Student Government, I organized and hosted a Women in Film event that brought together professors and a student on the cusp of entering the industry for a panel discussion. Coordinating schedules and logistics was a challenge, but the result was a lively, thoughtful conversation on the current state of women in film and what representation means for the future of the industry. I also developed and presented a brief history of women’s contributions to cinema, setting the stage for dialogue that concluded with an engaging audience Q&A. This experience deepened my skills in event planning, public speaking, and written presentation while reinforcing the value of amplifying diverse voices in media.
Town Hall
Moderated a COM Student Government town hall with Dean Mariette DiChristina and a professor panel, crafting questions that addressed concerns of new students, first-generation students, and the broader COM community. Facilitated open dialogue between administration and students while managing event logistics, including an AirPods Max giveaway to boost engagement.
Event Marketing
As VP, I managed our social media and marketing department to drive event attendance. I designed promotional graphics myself while delegating to my team with clear creative direction, specific visual elements, and deadlines. This approach maintained brand consistency while empowering my crew to contribute, resulting in strong turnout and increased student engagement across our events.
